We have an enticing Senior Geologist - Discovery opening awaiting you at our Central Tanami Project Joint Venture (CTPJV). This role offers a long-term career opportunity within our esteemed Geology function and if you’re looking to contribute to a dynamic team while advancing your geology career, we want to hear from you.

 

Roster will be 8 days on 6 days off and travelling in and out of Perth.

 

What you can look forward to:

  • QAQC management and validation of drill, geophysical and geochemical results.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, statutory reports and deliver periodic progress reports.
  • Review exploration expenditure and ensure all variances to budget are investigated and justified.
  • Identify specific areas for cost improvement and ensure the development and implementation of action plans to achieve these gains.
  • Manage project teams with the professional disciplines, skills and equipment necessary for the efficient and successful execution of approved exploration programs.
  • Provide leadership, training and coaching to Graduates, Geologists, Project Geologists and Geological Technicians.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers engaged in exploration activities on the project area.

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

 

Expertise & Accomplishment

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Geoscience from a recognised institution.
  • Knowledge of mapping, structural geology, geochemistry, drilling and sampling techniques. Some understanding of resource estimation methods.
  • Strong financial acumen including cost management, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Understanding of tenement management and relevant legislation.
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, GIS (Arcview and/or Mapinfo), 3D package/s (Micromine, Vulcan etc).
