The Open Pits Department at NSR currently has a newly created opportunity for a highly experienced Technical Services Manager to join the team, working at our Subiaco based Corporate Office, on a permanent and full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager – Open Pits, this key senior role will manage the development & implementation of an effective contractor model technical services department - focussed on efficient & responsive mine & equipment resourcing, estimation & planning.
Here is what awaits you.
- Review, audit and assist in the improvement of existing processes and systems open pit project evaluation and execution.
- Develop and support the implementation of a Open Pit technical services team.
- Identify business improvements, proposals of economic solutions, actions
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project budgets and timelines.
- Oversee the design and implementation of surface drilling programs, including contractor management.
- Compile yearly open pit ore reserve estimates and life of asset plans.
- Undertake mine planning and feasibility work for both operational and development projects.
- Provide mining engineering support for business development opportunities including due diligence assessments and mineral resource evaluations.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A Tertiary Qualification in Engineering.
- Statutory Supervisor and / or Quarry Manager Certification would be highly regarded.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise in extractive metallurgy, and effective Open Pit Mining Operations.
- Extensive relevant experience (10+ years) across the gold mining industry.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Mining CAD packages.
- A sound working knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
