NSSM currently has opportunities for well experienced Proficiency Trainers to join the team, working across our Open Pit Operations on a FIFO 8/6 roster out of Perth.
Reporting to the Training Superintendent these business-critical roles will oversee & drive capability & productivity improvements for our frontline operational personnel.
Here is what awaits you.
- Variety in your role - the opportunity to work across all Northern Star operations, commencing initially at the iconic Super Pit in Kalgoorlie.
- Targeted training and productivity assessments of excavator, shovel and other production operator roles focussed on identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and production.
- Develop coaching plans and schedules to close identified skill gaps, increase productivity metrics and improve operator capability.
- Providing ongoing monitoring and coaching of operational personnel after initial observations are completed to ensure best practice is understood by operators and implemented.
- Ensure all training activities comply with company policies, statutory regulations, and mine safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold a Certificate IV - Training & Assessment, as a minimum.
- Extensive production & operational experience with demonstrated prior experience improving performance & efficiency of NSSM production operators.
- Experience in a training or supervisory role within an operational mining environment would be highly regarded.
- Ability to quickly build relationships and pro-actively work with stakeholders to agree on planned activities & strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience working with Training Management and Data Reporting Systems e.g. INX InTuition & Power BI etc.
- Proficient across the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
