Position: Senior Mining Engineer - Underground
Work Location: Jundee
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off
The Senior Mining Engineer reports to the Alternate Underground Manager, and the overall objective is to manage and coordinate mining activities to ensure the production physicals, as directed in the three-month forecast are achieved, and to provide guidance and mentoring to Engineers.
What you can look forward to:
- Lead and mentor team of Drill and Blast, Projects and Graduate Engineers and will be required to fill the role of Alternate Underground Manager.
- Responsibility for the development of functional work plans for the Mining Department ensuring production and strategic requirements are met.
- Review and approve production drilling and charging plans.
- Conceptualise, initiate, present and implement specific improvement projects including any specific infrastructure projects required for productivity and profitability gains by the mine.
- Coordinate and manage the stope reconciliation process generating and keeping the required internal reporting records such as end of month & end of stope reconciliations.
- Coordinate and manage the end of month summaries and reports and any other measures that may be required to enable good management of the mine and the mining contract (e.g. KPI rising summary report, Mining EOM report.)

Expertise and Accomplishments:
The ideal candidate should hold a Degree majoring in Mining Engineering and a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (or the ability to acquire it). They will have over 5 years of experience in underground hard rock mining, showcasing comprehensive praticality in production, mine planning, and project management. A detailed understanding of various mining methods, including long hole open stoping and pastefill is highly desirable.
