Senior Advisor – Health & Safety (Technology & Data)

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Health & Safety professional to join our Subiaco based team on a permanent and full-time basis, working a standard Monday to Friday work week, with occasional travel to site.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Technology & Data, this role will ensure NSR’s health and safety technology, data, reporting and workflow platforms, are fit for purpose, reliable, secure, and scalable, as well as equipped to meet current & future Mine Health and Safety Management System requirements.

What you can look forward to:

• Act as a senior subject matter resource for Health & Safety technology, systems, data and reporting, providing practical advice to the Superintendent – Technology & Data and broader Health & Safety function.
• Support implementation and ongoing maturity of the Mine Health and Safety Management System by translating management system requirements into fit-for-purpose digital workflows, forms, data structures, controls, reporting and user experiences.
• Implement, administer, support and optimise Quartex-hosted Health & Safety applications and modules, including InControl, InFlight and +Process, within approved system governance, security and configuration standards.
• Gather and document business requirements, process maps, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and configuration requirements for new and changed Health & Safety technology solutions.
• Plan and coordinate system implementations, upgrades, hosted platform changes, releases and enhancements, including impact assessment, management of change, test planning, user acceptance testing, regression testing, cutover, deployment and post-implementation support.
• Develop and execute change management and adoption activities for Health & Safety technology changes, including stakeholder analysis, communications, training materials, user guidance, readiness activities, super-user engagement and hypercare support.
• Partner with Health & Safety process owners and data owners to establish and maintain clear data definitions, reference data, ownership, validation rules, data quality controls and reporting standards.
• Monitor Health & Safety data quality, completeness, timeliness and consistency; investigate anomalies and coordinate corrective actions to improve trust in system and reporting outputs.
• Develop, maintain and improve Health & Safety performance monitoring and reporting products, including standard reports, dashboards, scorecards, KPI definitions and trend analysis across leading and lagging indicators.
• Analyse Health & Safety data to identify trends, recurring issues, emerging risks, control performance concerns, action management issues, system adoption gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support Group and site reporting requirements by providing validated, traceable and appropriately governed data for management reviews, operational performance discussions, assurance activities and other Health & Safety reporting needs.
• Collaborate with the Information Technology Data & Analytics team to develop and maintain reliable data integrations, validated reporting datasets and Power BI or equivalent reporting solutions, while ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture and governance requirements.
• Support access and security governance for Health & Safety systems, including role-based access, segregation of duties, approval pathways, auditability and periodic access review requirements.
• Monitor system support requests and incidents relating to Health & Safety applications, workflows, data and reporting; troubleshoot issues, coordinate vendor support and escalate material or recurring issues as required.
• Maintain system and process documentation including configuration records, data dictionaries, process maps, test scripts, release notes, support procedures, work instructions, training materials and data flow or integration documentation.
• Support vendor and application lifecycle management, including product roadmaps, release reviews, licensing considerations, support arrangements and assessment of opportunities to improve system capability, reliability and user experience.
• Apply sound project management practices to Health & Safety technology and data initiatives, including scope, schedule, stakeholder engagement, risks, actions, dependencies, testing, implementation readiness and benefits tracking.
• Maintain awareness of emerging Health & Safety technology, analytics and digital solutions and recommend improvements that strengthen management system effectiveness, data visibility, operational efficiency or decision support.

• Hold a Diploma or Tertiary Qualification in Work Health and Safety, Information Systems, Data & Analytics, Business Systems or a related discipline, or a demonstrated equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with Health & Safety management systems, technology, data, reporting or workflow solutions in a complex operational environment.
• Extensive (Five plus years) experience in Health & Safety systems, technology, data analytics, performance reporting or management system roles, preferably within mining or a similarly complex multi-site industry.
• Strong working knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Management System requirements and the ability to translate Health & Safety processes and governance requirements into system, workflow, data and reporting solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, Quartex applications and modules including InControl, InFlight and +Process is highly desirable.
• Experience implementing, upgrading or supporting enterprise business applications, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, release management, system support and vendor coordination.
• Experience delivering organisational change for technology or process initiatives, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, readiness, adoption and post-implementation support.
• Demonstrated capability in Health & Safety performance monitoring, KPI development, dashboard design, trend analysis and preparation of clear, decision-useful reports for operational and leadership audiences.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, master or reference data, access controls, reporting definitions and protection of sensitive or confidential information.
• Strong capability with Microsoft 365 and data visualisation/reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel; experience with SQL, data modelling or other data analysis tools is desirable.
• Experience working collaboratively with Information Technology, Data & Analytics, business system owners and external software vendors to deliver integrated technology solutions.
• Sound understanding of applicable Work Health and Safety legislation, mining regulatory requirements and contemporary Health & Safety management system practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, manage competing demands and deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes.
• The ability to identify and implement improvements that strengthen system usability, data quality, reporting visibility, reliability, governance or Health & Safety performance.
• Possess a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
