Position: Senior Financial Planning Analyst

 

Work Location: Subiaco Head Office

 

Roster: 5:2 – Monday - Friday

 

The Finance department at Northern Star currently has a great opportunity for a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

 

Reporting to the Group Manager - Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordination of the budget and forecasting processes, along with supporting the Group’s planning system Anaplan to ensure an accurate forecasting process for all operations and corporate functions. In addition to the forecasting and planning, the role is responsible for continuous improvement to business reporting within finance to help support business analysis and decision making.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the co-ordination of the Group budget process, including distribution of timetables, and key budget assumptions.
  • Work closely with department managers (exploration, corporate and operations) to assist coordination throughout budget and forecast process.
  • Preparation of corporate budget presentation, for key executives.
  • Preparation of consolidated group budget presentation for executive and board.
  • Responsible with the wider planning team for driving the Anaplan implementation ensuring an accurate and timely implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Anaplan framework and working on continuous improvement to drive greater forward looking business analysis capability.
  • Work with the Senior Finance Systems and Planning Analyst responsible to ensure consistency and alignment between the finance systems of Pronto, Power BI, and Anaplan.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need

 

Expertise and Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years post CA/CPA qualification experience preferably in mining sector
  • Pronto experience is desirable
  • Anaplan or other planning software experience is desirable
  • Power BI experience is desirable
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Deep understanding on mining processes and drivers
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex business issues to Executives
