We are currently recruiting for a Senior Environment Advisor to join our Pilbara operations. This role will report directly to the Environmental Superintendent and involves an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth to the Pilbara.
Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Ensure compliance with approvals, company policies and environmental legislation.
- Implement and update the Northern Star Environmental Management System (EMS) for new projects.
- Manage key site environmental risks, including land disturbance and water management.
- Analyse environmental data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct audits, inspections and oversee corrective actions.
- Prepare environmental approval documents and statutory reports.
- Support incident investigations and management.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors and provide environmental advice.
- Deliver environmental training, presentations and workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Superintendent.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Environmental Science or similar related to the role.
- Ideally 5 - 8 years’ experience, with previous work in a similar role within a mining company or construction company and with strong field/site experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of environmental legislation, regulations and compliance including but not limited to the EP Act 1986 and Mining Act 1978.
- Knowledge and work experience in GIS and mapping software, proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, experience with environmental management software including INX and monitoring databases.
- Strong in-person and written communication skills and the ability to convey environmental information and requirements to varied personnel across the business.
- A current National Police clearance.
