Northern Star Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Document Control professional to join the team at our Subiaco Corporate Office, on an initial 18-month-contract.

 

Reporting to the Lead Document Controller the primary role is to maintain a high level of service provision in professional document control management, with additional focus on projects & process improvement.

  • As part of the safety team, you will visibly drive, develop & champion a positive safety culture across the business, displaying a genuine passion for all facets of health & safety, and a clear commitment to ensuring zero harm across all NSR operations.
  • Develop & implement a process to review the Safety Management System and associated systems for compliance to the ISO 45001.
  • Identify & implement systems & document improvements (document hierarchy & format) aligned with and supporting of ISO 45001 and inclusive of role-based approver / reviewer matrix (accountabilities chart).
  • Develop, implement & facilitate training options for face-to-face & online training material (this will require site travel to facilitate some face-to-face training).
  • Buddy with new starters to provide appropriate role-based training on document management.
  • Coordinate & deliver on systems alignment for the Safety Management System with metadata framework, as well as on special projects inclusive of acquisitions, merger, and process mapping.
  • Coordinate the ongoing development & day-to-day management of the document control system and roll out of new policies & procedures as required.
  • Ensure all documentation is prepared to the correct standard and processed through the document control system.
  • Upload and maintain Company documents on relevant platforms.
  • Best practice handling, distribution & control of project information, particularly technical drawings and maintaining drawings registers & tracking systems.
  • Ensure proper filing, naming conventions & metadata tagging for easy retrieval, along with conducting quality checks to verify drawing accuracy, completeness & compliance with company standards.

With experience in a similar document control, ideally within the resources sector, you have had the opportunity to work on site and possess a genuine passion & commitment for creating a work environment that prioritises and understands the importance of strong document management processes & systems.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive experience within a similar document control role, ideally within mining, construction or engineering and with some experience in a corporate office environment.
  • A thorough understanding & working knowledge of document control systems, with a strong emphasis on ‘best-practice’ drawings management.
  • A sound understanding of drawing numbering conventions & revision control.
  • Excellent computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience engaging with, influencing & building strong, functional relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A background demonstrating strong administrative skills, knowledge & experience.
