We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to join our dynamic IT team at Northern Star’s Subiaco office. This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to impactful data initiatives and grow your career.

 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

 

  • Collaborate with data owners and consumers to understand the company data model, business processes, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage upgrades, changes, new implementations, and reporting requirements for major business applications, ensuring cyber-security protections and communicating changes to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate data warehouse changes with the IT Data and Analytics team.
  • Participate in the on-call roster and provide remote support for urgent issues.
  • Create, manage, support, and test Power BI reports and dashboards, and coordinate with external vendors for complex reporting solutions.
  • Provide change management for major business system changes, including change plans, test plans, backout, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Coordinate systems and network changes with the IT Infrastructure Systems and Networks teams.
  • Communicate support requirements for business applications with Corporate and site IT support teams.
  • Guide staff on best practices for data reporting, quality assurance, testing, and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s IT policies and procedures.

 

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the mining industry using Snowflake.
  •  Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and Power BI required, Python, SQL and other data warehouse technologies desirable.
  • Familiarity with dimensional modelling (e.g. star schema)

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Qualification in a relevant information technology field.
