We are seeking a Psychosocial Specialist to join our Culture and Capability Team on a 12-month maximum-term contract wokring mainly from our Corporate Office in Subiaco on a 5 days on 2 days off roster, with regular site travel. This is a senior role focussed on embedding our fit-for-purpose risk management approach to managing psychosocial hazards across our operations.
Partnering with Operations, Leaders, Safety, HR and Legal, you will help build internal capability and improve systems and processes that will ultimately help foster a psychologically healthy and safe workplace - where our people thrive at work.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Working closely with the safety team to develop an aligned, fit for purpose approach to managing psychosocial risk at Northern Star, using existing systems and processes.
- Lead the integration of psychosocial hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting into INX.
- Develop a robust HR and Safety investigation approach that incorporates psychosocial risk management.
- Develop and deliver a sustainable approach to educating and engaging managers, senior leaders, HR and safety teams to understand their roles and responsibilities in managing psychosocial risks every day.
- Support the delivery of baseline psychosocial risk assessments across our sites (completed by an external provider)
- Partner with HR, Safety and senior leaders to educate and support when assessing incidents, reporting and responding to the regulator
- Develop a sustainable approach to educating and engaging employees on psychosocial hazards in the workplace their roles and responsibilities in providing a psychologically healthy and safe workplace.
- Support system, process, and behavioural improvements for a psychologically healthy workplace.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: Previous experience in OHS, HR or Organisational Psychology, implementing change with hands-on exposure to HR or WHS investigations, preferably in the resources sector, alongside strong HR/WHS data analysis and deep change management skills.
Qualifications: Demonstrated understanding of WHS Act, EEO and Sex Discrimination Act, Mine Safety and Inspections Act & Regulations, coupled with current Australian C - Class Drivers licence
Curiosity and a passion for growth: Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to drive meaningful change to systems, processes and behaviour, apply evidence-based approaches to psychosocial risk management, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organisation using multiple channels.
