We're seeking a Principal Process Engineer for the Hemi Gold Project from our Subiaco office. This role is key to represents the Owner team and provides independent technical governance of engineering service providers delivering process design and project services for a major refractory gold processing development.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Ensures the process design meets the Owner’s technical requirements and production objectives, whilst being safe, constructable, operable, maintainable, and fit for purpose.
  • Review and provide technical assurance of engineering deliverables (including process design criteria and basis of design, process flow documentation and mass balances), equipment selection philosophy and operating strategies, process control concepts and metallurgical assumptions.
  • Confirm design maturity is appropriate for the project phase and supports cost and schedule confidence, and coordinate with other Owner disciplines to ensure integrated technical outcomes.
  • Evaluate Operations-driven requests for technical merit and impact to safety, cost, schedule, and design stability.
  • Support development and review of commissioning and start-up strategies, ensuring the design supports safe start-up, operational flexibility, and maintainability.
  • Provide selective technical support during construction, commissioning, and early operational phases as required.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

  • Experience across project development, commissioning, operations, or plant support, preferably within an Owner’s team or at an Owner–contractor interface.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing engineering deliverables and participating in design and safety reviews.
  • Strong understanding of process design fundamentals, plant operability, and process safety.
  • Experience on major capital projects delivered under EPCM or similar service models.
  • Exposure to hydrometallurgical and/or complex processing circuits (e.g., POx, HPAL) is highly desirable.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering.
