Payroll Officer
NSMS have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at our corporate office based in Perth.
Northern Star Mining Services are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of fortnightly payroll using the SuccessFactors payroll system, while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of personal information. Key Responsibilities
As our Payroll Officer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Fortnightly Payroll Processing: Assist in completing the fortnightly payroll within electronic transfer timeframes using the SuccessFactors payroll system, ensuring accurate and timely payments while safeguarding confidentiality.
- Pay file Uploads: Manage the upload of payroll data and pay files to ensure that payments are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Personnel Records Administration: Manage both hard copy and electronic personnel records to ensure that data is consistently up to date, complies with statutory record-keeping requirements, and aligns with the company’s Quality System.
- Employee Queries & Filing: Assist employees with payroll-related queries and maintain accurate filing systems for employee information.
- Collaboration with Human Resources: Work closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure that new hires and exiting employees are processed in a professional and timely manner.
- Income Protection & Workers Compensation: Support the management of employee records, including those related to Income Protection and Workers Compensation claims.
- Payroll Reports & End-of-Fortnight Functions: Assist with payroll reporting, including superannuation payments, workers compensation claims, payroll tax, terminations, new employee information, and emergency contact details.
- Process Development: Assist in the development and improvement of payroll procedures and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously review payroll systems and procedures to identify areas for process improvement that add value to the business.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in payroll or similar administrative roles, ideally using SuccessFactors payroll system.
- Familiarity with pay file uploads and ensuring seamless integration with financial systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and statutory compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
- Good communication skills to manage employee queries effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, particularly Human Resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience with payroll software systems.
