Position: Operational Readiness Lead - Metallurgy

 

Work Location: Subiaco Head Office with frequent site visits

 

Roster: 5:2 – Monday - Friday

 

Our KCGM Growth Project Team currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Operational Readiness Lead - Metallurgy managing a major expansion and modernisation project at our KCGM gold processing plant in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

 

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager - Processing, the successful candidate will be accountable for the execution of metallurgy function deliverables required as part of the KCGM Growth Project operational readiness scope, along with supporting the commissioining and ramp up of the asset.  

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement operational readiness strategy for metallurgy function.
  • Engage and manage external resources where required.
  • Schedule and track progress of deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure metallurgical design and operational requirements are met.
  • Engage with site stakeholders, promote collaboration with the project.
  • Review existing metallurgical test work, identify gaps and define programs to close.
  • Develop, or update key metallurgical systems;
    • Metallurgical accounting
    • Reporting platforms i.e. PiVision, PowerBi
    • Budget and forecasting
    • Laboratory information management system
    • Operational and downtime data management system
  • Develop and implement training resources for metallurgical staff.
  • Review and influence operational readiness and commissioning requirements for metallurgical equipment and processes.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to broader operational readiness team.
  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects NSR’s Core Values.
  • Integrate solutions for current state processing opportunities. Identify issues/gaps which need resolution and create a management plan to implement improvements.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need

 

Expertise and Accomplishments:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the gold and hydrometallurgical processing industry.
  • Gold processing plant experience including flotation.
  • Ultra fine grinding experience (desirable).
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office (Extensive Excel skills).
  • Metallurgical accounting, forecasting and budget development experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively, and consider organization-wide impacts.
