We are recruiting for motivated and trade passionate people for our operations located across Western Australia. You can choose to join our Team working either at one of our remote mine sites on a fly-in-fly-out basis or as a residential employee based in Kalgoorlie- Boulder area including our iconic Super Pit.

Northern Star’s 2027 apprenticeship intake will focus on the following disciplines:

  • Fixed Plant Electricians
  • Fixed Plant Mechanics
  • Light Vehicle Mechanics
  • Fixed Plant Boilermakers
  • Heavy Diesel Mechanics
  • Communication Technicians

What you can look forward to: 

 
As an Apprentice, you'll play a key role in supporting our operations by working alongside experienced tradespeople to build the skills and knowledge behind a genuine trade career.


You'll gain hands-on technical experience across real, day-to-day tasks in your trade — learning to read and apply technical drawings and specifications, and to safely maintain, repair and install the equipment and infrastructure that keeps our operations running. Your work will directly contribute to safe, efficient and reliable mining activities.


Our program offers practical exposure to modern trade practices and equipment in a live operational environment, giving you the foundation to build strong technical capabilities and grow into a first-class tradesperson.


As part of our Apprenticeship Program, you will have:

  • Opportunities at multiple sites, with FIFO from Perth or residential roles on offer
  • A structured multi-year program with clear milestones, training and support every step of the way
  • Ongoing training and development, including required coursework toward your trade certification
  • Professional mentoring from experienced tradespeople and supervisors who are genuine people leaders in their field
  • A permanent career with Northern Star upon successful completion of your apprenticeship

From there, we'll review your application and invite shortlisted candidates to interview with Managers from the relevant department.
