As a direct result of the continuous success with talent development and future projects, Northern Star Resources are now seeking for a number of Mine Planning Engineers.
These opportunities will be available across Carosue Dam and Jundee Operations.
All roles will be working 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.
Here's what awaits you:
- Produce accurate and clear mine instructions (Mine Plan Authorisations, Engineering Extensions, Change Request & Re-entry Notes) and drive compliance to plan with short term technical staff as well as contractor.
- Work closely with the geology team to ensure designs are in line with available geological information.
- Develop weekly plans and schedules and ensuring compliance to 3MS special requirements.
- Design and deliver accurate and achievable monthly plans using Deswik Scheduler for all mining activities in a timely fashion to achieve the target schedules.
- Management of underground contractors for project work and lead the daily contractor compliance meetings.
- Support the Senior Planning Engineer to produce an achievable 3MS and monthly schedule and strategy to meet budget commitments
- Undertake improvement projects to optimise mining practices.

Expertise and Accomplishments:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering with practical underground time completed. Desirable skills include competency using Deswik packages (CAD, Schedule & IS) with demonstrated working knowledge in a fast-paced mechanised hard-rock underground operation. This coupled with understanding of forward planning and ability to be versatile is ideal.
