As a Metallurgist within Northern Star’s Technical Services team, you’ll work across multiple gold operations in Australia and America, partnering with site teams to solve technical challenges, improve processing performance and help shape the future of one of Australia’s leading gold producers.

 

One week you could be investigating a recovery opportunity at site, the next you might be reviewing metallurgical performance. You role will involve developing technical standards, evaluating new technologies and supporting  business improvement projects across multiple operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Supporting metallurgical performance across multiple gold processing operations.
  • Travelling to site to assist operations, troubleshoot plant performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Working alongside site metallurgists to solve complex processing challenges.
  • Developing and maintaining technical standards, procedures and governance systems.
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and supporting innovation across the business.
  • Analysing operational data and identifying opportunities to improve plant performance.
  • Contributing to strategic technical projects that deliver value across multiple operations.

Experience:

We’re looking for a metallurgist with sound operational experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for someone who has built a strong foundation in a site-based processing role and is looking to broaden their technical expertise, gain exposure to multiple operations and develop into a future technical leader.

 

Qualifications:

  • Formal qualification in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • Current West Australian ‘C' Class Drivers Licence.
