Northern Star Resources currently has a rare opportunity for an IT Systems Analyst to join the team at our Subiaco Office, working a 40 hour, Monday to Friday work week on a permanent & full-time basis.
Reporting to the IT Systems Lead, this role ensures that the Company’s IT systems infrastructure including servers, server hosting environments, server-based applications, and major Software & Service Systems such as Microsoft 365, are managed and maintained effectively to provide maximum service availability and security. The IT Systems Analyst will also implement small to medium sized IT projects throughout the organization.

- Provide helpful and friendly customer service to Northern Star employees and contractors.
- Monitor the IT Service Desk and ensure that support incidents and service requests are dealt with in a timely manner, and support incidents are escalated to IT management when required.
- Manage, implement, and support IT system on-site (site-based positions) or throughout the company-wide (Perth based positions) including connectivity, installing and maintaining desktops, laptops, servers, network equipment, and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user computing issues on desktops, laptops, networks, printers, mobile devices, and common business applications, and support Level 1 IT Support teams as required.
- Plan and implement IT projects, such as software and hardware refreshes, application install and upgrades, and (site-based roles) network extensions, and manage contractors that are required to implement these projects.
- Participate in the on-call roster, and while on-call be available to support occasional critical and urgent support issues.
- Ensure all passwords used for applications, systems, and network devices are secure and are only shared using the IT password management system, and new passwords for users are shared securely
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement IT solutions based on Company standards and IT security best practices.
- Maintain up to date monitoring dashboards, and hardware and software registers.
- Procure IT hardware, software, and services, and ensure that decommissioned equipment is secured, and data is destroyed as per the Data Management Standard.
- Implement, maintain backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Collaborate with other areas of the IT team, including service delivery, cyber, data, and business systems, to ensure alignment of technologies and operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree majoring in computer studies from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting IT system infrastructure, and 2 years relevant experience in the mining industry.
- Microsoft and VMware Certifications or demonstrated equivalent work experience in large multi-site network environments.
- ITIL Certification, ideally coupled with experience working within an ITIL framework.
- Experience implementing, operating, and supporting large multi-site IT environments, including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Windows Server, SCCM, SQL, Active Directory, backups and disaster recovery, Terminal Services, VMware, and security services.
- Some knowledge and experience in supporting network systems (Cisco routing and switching, wireless connectivity, firewalls, VOIP, VPN, and network monitoring tools) is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in implementing and supporting IT systems.
