Northern Star currently has an opportunity for an experienced IT Network Analyst to join us on a permanent & full-time basis. Reporting to the Network Lead and based at our Subiaco Head Office, these roles are responsible for ensuring Northern Star’s business, operational technology and other supporting systems provide constantly reliable and secure communication services.

• Plan, implement, and support network solutions providing enough capacity, availability, performance, reliability, and security to support current and future business requirements in compliance with the Information Technology Policy and other Company policies and procedures.

• Hands-on management of network services including routing, switching, wireless, network access control (NAC), firewalls, SD-WAN solutions, and monitoring systems.
• Manage contractors and external vendors that implement network projects.
• Ensure passwords used for applications, systems, and network devices are secure and are only shared using the IT password management system.

• Procure IT network hardware, software, and services, and ensure that decommissioned equipment is secured, and data is destroyed, as per the Data Management Standard.
• Participate in the on-call roster, and while on-call be available for remote support for occasional urgent support issues via call, text message, or Teams.
• Provide advice on IT security best practices and ensure compliance with the Information Technology Policy.
• Maintain up to date network diagrams, hardware and software registers, and other supporting documentation.
• Monitor the IT Service Desk and ensure that network support incidents and service requests are dealt with in a timely manner, and support incidents are escalated to IT management when required.
• Promoting timely reporting of security incidents and aiding in the identification of and implementation of remedial actions in accordance with the Security Incident Management Plan.
• Work with site operations managers to ensure that Operational Technology systems comply with the Operational Technology Policy.
• Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions for network services.

With experience (2+ years) supporting IT network infrastructure, you have had exposure to multi-vendor routing and switching, VLAN segregation and subnet design, network access control (NAC), firewall configuration and management, cloud networking and security, NAT, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and wireless technologies, along with a genuine passion for delivering quality outcomes across your remit.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A Tertiary Qualification majoring in computer studies, along with Cisco CCNA (or higher) certification or equivalent demonstrable work experience across large multi-site organisations, with multi-vendor networks.
• ITIL certification or experience working within an ITIL framework would be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with Operational Technology architectures, including security standards and frameworks applicable to OT environments (IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82).
• Experience designing, implementing, operating, and supporting enterprise network technologies, including Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN solutions, Cisco routing and switching, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst Center, and Ubiquiti, Meraki and Ruckus wireless networks. Experience with AWS and/or Azure networking is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting IT networks.
• Working knowledge in supporting common desktop and server applications (Microsoft Windows Client and Server, Active Directory, NPS, Office 365, certificates, endpoint protection etc).
