The Open Pits Department at NSR currently has a newly created opportunity for a highly experienced HR Superintendent to join the team, working at our Subiaco based Corporate Office, on a permanent and full-time basis.

Reporting to the General Manager – Open Pits, this key senior role will provide hands-on HR support across open pit operations. You will coordinate and drive employee engagement and provide expert advice on employee relations and performance management. This role will play a key part in delivering our people plan, including rolling out new programs and initiatives, while supporting leaders in building effective teams aligned with our MySTARR values.

Here is what awaits you.

  • Support the Open Pits Department with all facets of Human Resources & partner with operational leaders to consistently deliver best-practice HR.
  • Provide expert advice on ER/IR matters.
  • Build and implement HR solutions and internal policy and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance & completion of HR Administration tasks, inclusive of contracts, variations, position descriptions, drafting policy and procedures, performance counselling and disciplinary letters, review of visa documentation & other ad hoc tasks.
  • Workplace relations matters especially ER and IR grievance handling and case management, Awards interpretations/advisory.
  • Leadership Development and capability: Coach and support leadership on all employee life cycle matters i.e., ER, IR, OHS, risk mitigation, Performance Management and Improvements, etc.
  • Create, shape & implement people strategies in this growing department.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold a Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • A true senior HR generalist (ideally minimum of 8 years Senior HR Generalist experience with 3 plus years in management/leadership) experience in site-based mining environment.
  • Comfortable travelling to site-based environments and the ability to partner with both corporate & site teams seamlessly & effectively.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of ER/IR and award interpretation
