Northern Star Resources currently has two fixed-term opportunities for experienced Systems Administrators to join the Health & Safety Department at our Subiaco Corporate Office; one on a six-month-contract, the other a 12-month-contract. Reporting to the Health & Safety Systems Coordinator these roles will support the administration & maintenance of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) systems, databases & documentation. These support roles also include troubleshooting problems on-site, assisting with system improvements & developments, as well as some ad-hoc reporting tasks.

 

Here is what awaits you:

  • Collate and enter data into the relevant Company databases and systems.

  • Provide continuous support to the WHS Team in all administrative matters.

  • Assist the WHS Team to prepare and provide information to all employees and contractors regarding health, safety and training matters.

  • Advise the Coordinator on system improvement opportunities.

  • Create weekly and monthly WHS Reports, as well as any required statistical reports.

  • Raise and receipt purchase orders for business unit.

  • Arrange travel for employees and consultants engaged by business unit

  • Create detailed analysis and presentation of OHS and training data.

  • Liaise with other internal departments or Stakeholders to champion the use of WHS and training data and systems.

  • Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications to correct/improve.

  • Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorised damage, modification, or disclosure.

  • Motivate, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new approved products and assist with preparation of various reports and presentations as required by site.

  • Apply and promote problem solving and analytical skills.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

With experience (3+ years) in a similar systems admin support role, you are customer service focused, possess great people skills, and an excellent attention to detail.

 

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar support role, ideally within the resources industry would be highly advantageous, as would a qualification in Business Administration or equivalent.

  • Strong computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as relevant safety & database management systems & sound proficiency using INX modules and application is a must.

  • You have had exposure to or are aware of the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations.

  • Possess strong analytical, critical thinking & problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure & think on your feet.

  • You are well organised with a keen attention to detail, and strong time management skills.

  • Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you multitask & prioritise effectively, and are comfortable working in a dynamic & outcome focused environment.
