The Opportunity?

 

Northern Star Resources (NSR) has a newly available opportunity for a Group Manager – Processing Operational Compliance to join the business on a permanent & full-time basis.

 

Based at our Subiaco Head Office, this senior leadership role will drive & champion operational consistency around governance & compliance on key processing hazards, across all NSR processing facilities. You will also take on the mentoring & coaching of Metallurgy Leads across the business.

 

Responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Develop & implement operational strategies & programs to ensure compliance with operational regulations & standards.
  • Mentor team members to execute compliance initiatives & continuous improvement processes.
  • Ensure all processing activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, & best practices.
  • Maintain the operational risk register, ensuring all risks are identified, assessed & managed appropriately.
  • Lead investigations into non-compliance incidents, developing value-adding corrective actions.
  • Analyse operational data to identify compliance gaps & root causes, facilitating continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices & drive a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Undertake regular benchmarking to ensure the company remains competitive & adheres to best practices.
  • Identify business improvements, propose economic solutions & drive the implementation of agreed actions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to inspect processing facilities & ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Review & audit existing processes & systems to ensure ongoing compliance & operational efficiency.
  • Review operational practices, inspection reports & compliance documentation, ensuring all records are accurate & provide reports to Ops GM’s & GM – Processing.

 

About you?

 

With extensive experience in a similar senior role (10+ years), you are well versed in the gold mining industry, and have a strong background in Metallurgical, Chemical or Process Engineering, and have spent significant time working on site. Your extensive career has provided you a detailed working knowledge & thorough understanding of best practice change management principles, and you are an expert within Processing performance.

 

On top of the above, the following will also see you set for success in this role:

 

  • A genuine passion for metallurgy & processing; with demonstrated ability to deliver or exceed industry best practice, as well as improve business capability & output.
  • A Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
  • Possess high-level proficiency in Processing performance, as well as a solid understanding of change management practices & principles.
  • Excellent communication & people skills, with the ability to engage, influence & build strong, functional relationships.
  • Target driven & solutions orientated, you think strategically & outside the box to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to collaborate effectively, as well as drive & manage change through the organisation.
  • Innovative in thought, with an agile mindset, you possess strong analytical & problem-solving skills and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you are well organised, have strong time management skills and multitask effectively & seamlessly
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy across the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
