We are actively seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the team, working at our Subiaco based Corporate Office, on a permanent and full-time basis.
Reporting to the Group Manager Finance – Mining Services, this key senior role involves overseeing cost management and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial process improvements, contract management, and analytics within open pit operations. It focuses on enabling data-driven decision-making, fostering team development, and driving continuous business improvements, all aligned with our STARR Core Values.

- Review, audit, and oversee the continuous improvement of existing processes and systems, including project evaluation and execution.
- Manage contract administration and commercial agreements for open pit operations while developing and implementing scalable project analytics to ensure compliance with personnel, utilization, and contractual obligations.
- Ensure the integration of operational data, performance metrics, and financial insights to support comprehensive and informed decision-making.
- Lead the delivery and ongoing refinement of business processes and ERP systems across sites.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and accessibility of KPI and metric reports for analysis, primarily utilizing BI systems (Power BI preferred).
- Train, mentor, and develop Business Analysts to enhance team capabilities.
- Drive the continuous improvement of processes and commercial reporting across sites.
- Support the management and development of the commercial and finance teams.
- Identify opportunities for business improvement and facilitate the implementation of sustainable and impactful changes.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of project budgets and timelines to ensure effective project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce with Finance or Accounting
- CA or CPA accreditation
- Experience within the mining or resources sector (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to effectively communicate financial & commercial insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience in financial forecasting, cost analysis & budgeting.
- A sound working knowledge of, or exposure to the functionality of ERP systems.
- Strong computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly expertise within Excel and Power Bi.
