The Open Pits Department at Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for a highly experienced Commercial Manager to join the team, working at our Subiaco based Corporate Office, on a permanent and full-time basis.

Reporting to the General Manager, this key senior role will manage month end reporting, budgeting and forecast requirements across our open pit operations.

The role will also be a critical part of developing greater visibility and understanding of key performance measures in our business, developing improved business practices, commercial acumen for better business outcomes using our STARR Core Values and Purpose as the foundation for decisions.

Here is what awaits you.

  • Review, audit & oversee the improvement of existing processes & systems project evaluation & execution.
  • Develop & implement scalable project analytics to ensure people, utilisation & contract compliance is being met.
  • Cost management & cost reporting for project management.
  • Deliver & refine functional business process & ERP system for sites.
  • Train, develop & mentor site-based Business Analysts.
  • Continuous improvement of processes & commercial reporting for sites
  • Develop and support the management of the commercial / finance team.
  • Identify business improvements & support the implementation of sustainable & meaningful change
  • Manage the preparation & maintenance of project budgets & timelines.

 

To thrive in this role.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce with Finance or Accounting
  • CA or CPA accreditation
  • Experience within the mining or resources sector (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial & commercial insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience in financial forecasting, cost analysis & budgeting.
  • A sound working knowledge of, or exposure to the functionality of ERP systems
  • Strong computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly expertise within Excel.
