Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team at our Corporate Office in Subiaco on a permanent, full‑time basis, working Monday to Friday. 

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, this role plays a key part within the Finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, while contributing to high standards of financial governance and compliance across the business.

 

Here is what awaits you.

  • Own end‑to‑end month‑end accounting for the De Grey Mining entity, liaising with operations and key stakeholders
  • Prepare and post month‑end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reallocations
  • Complete bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and reconcile intercompany balances
  • Maintain equipment lease schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting monthly schedules
  • Prepare ABS surveys and support accurate statutory and management reporting
  • Assist with quarterly, half‑year, and annual ASX reporting, including audit support
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, policies, systems, and provide adhoc finance support

 

To thrive in this role, you will need.

Experience: Minimum two years of experience in an accounting practice or a similar role, with strong ERP exposure (Pronto), advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups), and experience using financial reporting and consolidation tools such as Workiva and FloQast is desired.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in accounting or equivalent and working towards Chartered or Certified accounting qualification.
