Our 12-week Summer Vacation Program has been designed to set you up for long-term success. Through hands-on placements, real projects and dedicated support from experienced mentors, you will develop the practical skills and confidence needed to thrive — all while earning as you learn.

What you can look forward to:
As a Northern Star Vacation Student, you'll play a key role in supporting our operations by working alongside some of the best mining experts in the industry to gain real, hands-on exposure to your field.
You'll gain practical experience putting your studies into action, with site-based placements available across Open Pit, Underground or Exploration, and the choice between Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) and residential roles across multiple operations.
Our program offers practical exposure to modern mining operations in a live, real-time environment, giving you the foundation to build strong technical capabilities for a successful career.
As part of our Vacation Program, you will have:
- Paid, first-hand practical work experience at multiple sites, with residential and FIFO roles on offer
- The choice between Underground, Open Pit or Exploration opportunities
- Professional mentoring from industry-leading mining experts
- A fast-tracked pathway to our Graduate Program once you complete your studies
