Environmental Advisor

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Environmental Advisor to join the site-based team at our Hemi Operations. This permanent and full-time opportunity will work an ongoing 8 & 6 roster, flying in / out of Perth.

Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, you will provide environmental support across both construction and operational activities, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and site requirements. The role involves environmental monitoring, sampling, inspections, data analysis and reporting, as well as overseeing contractor compliance and supporting the effective implementation of environmental management systems across site.

  • Hands-on environmental monitoring, sampling, and field-based activities, supporting compliance with environmental and heritage obligations across the mining operation.
  • Contributing to sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Supporting flora, fauna, water management, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Building strong partnerships with operational teams and contractors across site.
  • Developing expertise in environmental reporting, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Making a positive impact through environmental stewardship and responsible mining practices.

 

Where you’ll add value:

  • Previous experience as an Environmental Advisor, preferably within mining, resources, or construction environments.
  • Experience in environmental compliance within mining, resources, or related industries.
  • Understanding of environmental impacts associated with mining and processing operations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, supported by proficient Microsoft Office skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels of site operations.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Solutions focused, you possess strong analytical & problem-solving skills & thrive in a dynamic & outcomes focused environment.

Qualifications / Technical:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of WA environmental legislation and regulatory requirements, compliance requirements, and environmental management systems.
  • Hold a current C Class Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Committed to environmental compliance, safety, and sustainable mining practices, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to environmental management.
  • Added advantage if you have previous mine site and 4WD experience, fauna handling qualifications, and proficiency in QGIS, SharePoint, Pronto, and Monitor systems.
