Position: Underground Manager
Location: Porphyry Operations, an extension of Carosue Dam Operations
Roster: 4 days on, 3 days off
Here’s what awaits you:
- Holding statutory duties and demonstrating visible safety leadership to deliver production safely. Set and hold a high safety standard and undertake regulatory reporting, compliance and inspections to support safe mining activities.
- Develop a robust of operational systems, processes and controls and be accountable for the safety of your team and stakeholders. Ensure system of work are in place to manage the development of mine designs, plans and schedules.
- Commit and deliver on goals aligned with our strategy, identifying opportunities and implementing improvements to create superior returns for our shareholders.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the underground mining operations, including the underground technical, project and operation teams to meet all safety, production and cost targets.
- Supervise and manage the operational team including external mining contractors and/or Northern Star Mining team. Ensure that all mining and planning activities are aligned to support our strategy and deliver our results.
- Support the General Manager and Mining Manager in their statutory and strategic responsibilities and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain robust succession and talent management frameworks, ensuring defined accountabilities and consistent performance feedback.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience:
Candidates should have technical and leadership experience in large scale underground mining operations, including contractor, project and people management. They should be decisive leaders with the ability to think critically, influence, communicate risks effectively, and deliver practical, value-driven plans.
Qualifications:
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
- Site Senior Executive Certificate of Competency.
