About our role:

Northern Star Resources has an new & exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Fitter to join the team at our world class Jundee operations. This position is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO from Perth. The Heavy Duty Fitter reports to the Light Vehicle Coordinator and the primary role is to maintain a mixture of light trucks and associated ancillary equipment including Wheel Loaders / ITs, Franna & Cranes, EWPs, Generators, Forklifts,Telehandlers, Buses and Coaches. Please note: this position is intended to support the Light Vehicle Department and will not be responsible for maintaining large surface or underground mining equipment such as haul trucks, excavators, or drill rigs.

Here's what awaits you...

• Work within the Mobile Maintenance Team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow-up work, PMs, planned work etc) are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
• Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
• Organise all permits as required (e.g. isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits).
• Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assisting and supporting the Light Vehicle Mechanics with their duties.

To thrive in this role you will need...

Experience: Similar relevant experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with exposure with light trucks & machinery.

Qualifications: Mechanical Trade Qualification, Valid Australian Drivers Licence
