Position: Technical Services Manager

 

Work Location: Thunderbox Operations

 

Roster: 4 days on, 3 days off

 

What you can look forward to:

  • The site champion for the development and driving the Life of Asset (LoA) execution.
  • Manage external contractors and internal technical teams on delivering different level of studies, including feasibility for project approval.
  • Assist the Mining Manager to develop the operational open pit and underground assets and associated activities to safely meet the company’s strategic goals.
  • Identify business improvements, proposals of economic solutions, actions and execution.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project budgets and timelines.
  • Lead your team with purpose by driving annual planning cycles, fostering continuous performance growth through regular feedback, and actively supporting both individual and technical development.
  • Responsible on the management of geotechnical and survey teams ensuring timely delivery of function outcome in delivering mining plan.
  • Mining related technical advice as required

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

Experience

  • Competent user of Deswik packages (Sched, CAD, SO).
  • Understanding of budgets and mining cost drivers.
  • Strong understanding of underground and/ or open pit operations.
  • Practical experience managing new projects ramp up and multi-site operations.
  • Proven success in leading large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong strategic mindset with sharp analytical skills. Ability to think ahead and switch between strategic and tactical priorities quickly.
  • Ability to identify and frame complex issues and opportunities quickly, and bring to resolution with a solid framework.
  • Deep working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulation. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (desirable).
  • WA Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency (desirable).
