Northern Star Resources is currently seeking a Survey Technician to join our team at Thunderbox Operations. This role offers a strong, long-term career opportunity within our Technical Services function.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the position operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth. If you’re looking to join a dynamic team and continue developing your surveying career in a supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Here is what awaits you
- Drill & blast ring markups
- Stope Drone and CMS surveys
- Mine heading design and pickup surveys
- All the associated software processing with the above-mentioned tasks
- Maintain the Survey Vehicles - daily prestart & washing of vehicles
- Maintain the Survey Stores area
- Maintain and Clean Survey Equipment
To thrive in this role, you will need
Experience:
- Experience using CAD software or exposure to mining environments (desirable)
- Experience working in high-risk environments around heavy machinery (desirable)
- Methodical and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to identify errors and problem-solve effectively
- Hardworking and able to work well in a team environment
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Quick to learn new software systems
- Enjoys a balance between office-based work and hands-on, field-based tasks
Qualifications:
Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying (or willingness to work towards), along with a current C Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
