About the role:

Northern Star Resources has an exciting leadership opportunity at our world-class Thunderbox Operations for a dynamic and driven Site Services Coordinator working FIFO ex Perth on 4 days on 3 days off (Monday to Thursday) rotation.

The Site Services & Project Coordinator reports to the Processing Manager, the primary role is to supervise all surface dewatering and ancillary infrastructure functions across site while complying with all statutory requirements and HSEC standards/procedures. This position is also responsible for effectively coordinating and supervising all Mine services activities, including but not limited to dewatering activities, mine water supply and general site support services. 

 

Here's what awaits you...

  • The supervision of the Mine Services Team and the effective allocation of duties across the open pits and processing departments 

  • Coordinating all mine dewatering services and any contractors and sub-contractors involved in these activities 

  • Mine/Mill water maintenance activities, including but not limited to pit and U/G surface dewatering, bore field pumps and pipework, and general site pumping and pipework requirements 

  • Coordinating water supply, inspections and maintenance activities associated with bore fields and water repositories across site 

  • Coordinating and assisting with site capital Project work  

  • Providing assistance when required to the Mining (OP and UG) and Processing departments. 

  • Identifying and implementing technical improvements to optimise site infrastructure and systems relative to the role 

  • Ordering and maintaining a supply of essential parts and components required for tasks on site 

 

To thrive in this role, you'll need...

Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the mining industry; History with submersible, centrifugal and impeller pumps (installation and retrieval); Welding, oxy cutting and poly welding experience; Incident investigation skills; Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices; Computer literacy - email, Word, Excel; PRONTO experience (desirable)

Qualifications: Trade qualification in either Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, Carpentry or Plumbing; Current Australian Drivers Licence; Crane and/or dogman ticket; Experience with IT loader and other mobile equipment experience
