Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pastefill and Projects Engineer to join the team at our Carosue Dam Operations, working on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead the continued development of pastefill operations and underground infrastructure projects at Carosue Dam.
Here is what awaits you
- Develop, lead and provide professional development guidance to the Paste and Projects Engineers.
- Development of safe procedures, processes, and systems of work to successfully implement pastefill operations at Carousue Dam.
- Daily co-ordination and scheduling of Paste infrastructure works and backfill requirements.
- Assist with capital projects design, management and execution.
- Provide monthly progress updates for projects
- Manage underground contractors for project work, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Contribute to risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
To thrive in this role, you will need
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of pastefill operations, infrastructure planning, and contractor management, along with proven exposure to backfilling activities within a mechanised hard‑rock underground mining environment. They will also be a competent user of Deswik (or a similar mine planning software package) and VentSim.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferably Mining engineering, coupled with a current Australian C - Class Drivers licence.
