- 8/6 roster | FIFO from Perth
- Permanent full-time role with exceptional benefits
- A genuine entry point into resource estimation
We are looking for a Project Geologist – Resources to join our Jundee Operations on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth.
Jundee is a geology-first mine. Our growth, resource and operations geologists work as one vertically integrated team, driving the value chain from near-mine exploration through to production. Resource estimation is done here on site, alongside the people that did the logging, mapping and face sampling - not in a corporate office.
This is a foot-in-the-door role into resource estimation. If you’ve worked in operations and growth with some exposure to geological interpretation and wireframing, this is your next step into a dedicated resource-focused role covering start-to-finish geological modelling and estimation. You’ll make that step under the guidance of our senior resource geologists, as part of a close-knit and technically highly capable team.
What you can look forward to:
- Build and estimate grade-control and development models - interpretation, wireframing, compositing, validation and release - with peer and senior technical review.
- Turn models around fast. Geological lead-lag times between drilling, development, modelling and mining are short, so pace and reliability matter as much as rigour.
- Close the gap between model and reality by championing stope reconciliations.
- Spot what’s next. Having built the model, you’re closer to the data in an integrated manner than most - well placed to identify new targets and follow-up drilling, and to support the growth team with incremental additions that grow the orebody and add real value!
- Coach and mentor more junior geologists in logging, rig management, underground mapping and face sampling. Resource geology is the end customer of that work, so lifting its quality is a core part of the role, not an extra.
- Work closely with planning and drill-and-blast engineers so models are delivered on time and aligned with budget, 3MS and weekly schedules.
- As you build experience, you’ll get the opportunity to take on resource models and contribute to annual Resource and Reserve reporting - the next step in a clear technical progression.
Where you’ll add value:
- Minimum 3 years practical experience in mining and/or exploration geology. Narrow-vein gold experience highly regarded.
- Exposure to geological interpretation and modelling, with experience in the growth and interpretation space providing a sound foundation to start from.
- Working knowledge of Leapfrog and Datamine. Exposure to Deswik and acQuire in the mine-geology workflow well regarded.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Geology from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Current Western Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
Our people, your benefits:
- Subsidised GU Health Insurance for employees and immediate family, including gold-level hospital and ancillary benefits with rebates from 80%–100%.
- Competitive bonus program with quarterly and annual incentive opportunities.
- Employee share plans with free shares and matched contributions.
- Comprehensive parental leave policy and confidential wellbeing support.
- Salary packaging options, including novated leasing and FIFO benefits where applicable.
- 5 weeks annual leave for site-based employees.
