About the role:

Northern Star has an exciting and rewarding leadership opportunity for a Processing Superintendent to make an impact and grow our world-class Thunderbox Operations. This opportunity is offered permanently on a Thursday-to-Thursday 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth. The Processing Superintendent reports to the Processing Manager, and the primary role is to lead the processing operations team to ensure KPI’s are met in a safe and productive manner.

• Day to day management of the production functions.
• Mentoring and coaching and development of succession plans for all critical positions.
• Foster continuous improvement opportunities between key functional groups within the processing department Ie: Maintenance, Production and Metallurgy.
• Work closely with Processing Manager to facilitate ongoing skill assessment and development.
• Tracking of plant performance to monthly and quarterly production plans.
• Manage and review budget compliance with the view of looking for cost saving initiatives.
• Ability to drive a positive team culture that aligns with Northern Star core values.
• Ensure direction is provided to the Department in relation to Thunderbox’s processing facilities and that such facilities adhere to the Company’s regulatory and environmental compliance obligations.

To thrive in this role, you'll need..

Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a mineral processing environment at a similar senior leadership level, experience in budgeting and cost management, performance management of team members, well-developed analytical skills, development of succession plan skills for all critical positions, Computer literacy - email, Word, Excel; PRONTO experience (desirable); Preferable INX experience (desirable), and ability to work well under pressure.

Qualifications: Degree majoring in Chemistry/Metallurgy from a recognised tertiary institution (preferred) & Australian C Class Driver's Licence.
