Northern Star Resources is currently seeking Planning Engineers to join the team at Wonder Underground Mine, part of our Thunderbox Operations. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 8:6 roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Produce accurate and clear mine instructions (lateral and vertical mine development, stope notes) by bringing conceptual designs to execution-ready plans.
- Assist the Senior Engineer in developing weekly plans and schedules and ensuring compliance to monthly and 3MS special requirements
- Work closely with the geology team to ensure designs are in line with available geological information.
- Evaluation of prospective remnant areas and improvement projects to optimise mining practices.
- Management of underground contractors for project work where required.
- Work closely with survey and operations to prioritise and execute development activities.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience:
Candidates should have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced mechanised hard-rock underground operation, with exposure to underground production and mine planning, and will ideally have completed their practical underground time. Competency in the Deswik software suite, including CAD and IS, is highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence (Manual).
