About the opportunity:
Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for a Trainer & Assessor, supporting the Open Pit Department at our Thunderbox Operations. FIFO ex Perth, 14:14 roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Work with supervisors and managers to ensure that competencies, compliances and procedures required for each role reflect the work they undertake.
- Work with supervisors to maintain an acceptable standard of training competence.
- Maintain INX InTuition for the Open Pit Department, including any permanent contract staff.
- Keep up to date records of all personnel training records.
- Maintain a training requirements register to ensure personnel training targets are met to achieve area competencies.
- Maintain the department training and skills competency matrix.
- Align training for compliance as required e.g. Working at Heights.
- Ensure compliance of personnel with site and corporate training requirements.
- Ensure personnel complete training requirements in a timely manner.
- Attend prestart meetings and provide feedback as required
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) updating, review and writing.
- Conversion of JHA’s to procedures.
- Carry out workplace inspections.
- Department specific inductions and assist with site inductions as required.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: 3 years’ experience in a similar role, within an open pit mining environment
Qualification: Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, Senior First Aid Certificate and current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence
Passion for growth: Genuine passion for the Australian gold mining industry with high regard for safety
