Northern Star Resources currently has a rare senior opportunity for a Mining Manager to join the team at our Thunderbox Operations, working an ongoing 4/3 roster, on a permanent & full-time basis.
Here is what awaits you.
- Develop, implement, manage, review and improve safe systems of work for underground and open pit mining activities operations to ensure compliance to legislation and company policies.
- Develop mining strategy to safely develop and operate the underground and open pit operations to meet the company’s strategic goals.
- Manage and supervise the operational team including external principal contractors and/or Northern Star Mining Services (NSMS).
- Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company’s operating requirements and maximise, as practicable, the underground and open pit mine’s positive contribution to the operation.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and application of departmental procedures and ensure all risks associated with mining are identified and addressed.
- Analyse and report on mining operational performance to identify any early interventions required to maintain performance.
- Develop a succession plan for roles within the technical services team, and other teams as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience:
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Applicable previous management and statutory position holding experience.
- Practical experience in a senior leadership position on a large-scale operation.
- Strong financial acumen and good understanding of contractor management business model.
- Detailed working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
