Building on the continuous success of our business growth strategy, Northern Star Resources are now seeking a driven and ambitious Underground Mining Engineer to join the team at our Jundee operations. This position will be operating on 8:6 roster, FIFO ex Perth. 

Here’s what awaits you:

• Give directions and information regarding the drilling and blasting schedule and plans to Shift Supervisors and Mine Foremans.
• Ensure accurate and achievable plans for drilling and blasting activities are completed in timely fashion to achieve target schedules.
• Monitor production activities within the mine to identify and improve designs and productivities.
• Undertake stope performance assessments for each stope and back analyse to ensure continuous improvement in drilling and blasting plans, designs and controls.
• Complete stope designs for approval by Senior Production Engineer, to maximise economic extraction of geological stope shapes with available equipment and manpower resources.
• Summarise stope notes and stope reconciliations upon practical completion of stoping.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

Experience:

Desirable skills include competency using Deswik UGDB with demonstrated working knowledge of various drill & blast techniques and practices. This coupled with understanding of forward planning and ability to be versatile is ideal.

Qualifications:

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering with 1-2 years practical experience, preferably completion of underground practical time, and a WA C Class Manual Drivers Licence.
