Building on the continuous success of our business growth strategy, Northern Star Resources are now seeking driven and ambitious Underground Mining Engineers.
These opportunities will be available across our Yandal Production Centre – Thunderbox and Jundee. All positions will be operating on 8:6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.
What you can look forward to:
- Give directions and information regarding the drilling and blasting schedule and plans to Shift Supervisors and Mine Foremans.
- Ensure accurate and achievable plans for drilling and blasting activities are completed in timely fashion to achieve target schedules.
- Monitor production activities within the mine to identify and improve designs and productivities.
- Undertake stope performance assessments for each stope and back analyse to ensure continuous improvement in drilling and blasting plans, designs and controls.
- Complete stope designs for approval by Senior Production Engineer, to maximise economic extraction of geological stope shapes with available equipment and manpower resources.
- Summarise stope notes and stope reconciliations upon practical completion of stoping.

Accomplishment & Expertise
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering with 1-2 years practical experience, preferably completion of underground practical time. Desirable skills include competency using Deswik UGDB with demonstrated working knowledge of various drill & blast techniques and practices. This coupled with understanding of forward planning and ability to be versatile is ideal.
