Northern Star Resources has exciting leadership opportunities at our Jundee & Thunderbox Operations for a dynamic and driven Mechanical Leading Hand working FIFO ex Perth on 8 days on 6 days off rotation. The Mechanical Leading Hand reports to the Mechanical Supervisor, and the primary role is to assist in leading the Maintenance Team in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures meet company safety & operational standards within the statutory standard

What you can look forward to:

• Carry out maintenance activities on all Fixed Plant Equipment as directed, in a safe and efficient manner, whilst adhering to Company Standards, Policies and Procedures.
• Execute the work in accordance with the schedule, scope, quality standards and within agreed timeframes.
• Order parts and materials for Work Orders as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor and escalate any issues in a timely manner.
• Provide input into mechanical improvements of the processing plant.
• Assist in managing performance and productivity of the team, including coaching and development to employees of a lower level.

Where you’ll add value:

• Similar fixed plant leading hand experience with demonstrated leadership skills
• Experience in fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment (highly regarded)

Qualifications:

• Relevant Mechanical Trade Qualification
• Valid C Class Australian Drivers Licence
• Schedule 26 (Desirable)
