About the role:
Northern Star has an exciting and rewarding leadership opportunity for a Maintenance Superintendent to make an impact and grow our world-class Thunderbox Operations. This opportunity is offered permanently on a Friday-to-Friday 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth. The Maintenance Superintendent reports to the Maintenance Manager, and the primary role is to provide an effective and responsive upkeep function to the maintenance department by executing all the scheduled maintenance work and responding to operation requirements.
Here's what awaits you...
- Monitor and coach team leaders on the key metric drivers to identify processing maintenance improvement opportunities, within execution standards, reliability engineering processes, defect identification/reporting and elimination.
- Review effectiveness of the life of asset strategy and provide recommendations to stakeholders to agree and then implement changes/improvements. Update budget and resource requirements to support the updated strategy.
- Monitor and communicate with respective planning, reliability and engineering department nominees on plant or process improvement or upgrades ensuring they consider ongoing maintenance effectiveness requirements.
- Monitor Work Management Reports to identify improvement opportunities, provide direction and support in relation to Work Management and Pronto improvements.
- Construct the Shutdown Management process to enable the effectiveness of interfaces, processes undertaken to ensure planned shutdowns are brought in on time and on budget with no injuries.
To thrive in this role, you'll need...
Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in fixed plant maintenance management, supervision, and preventative maintenance program. A strong understanding of reliability concepts and practices - such as; Root Cause Failure Analysis, predictive maintenance, thermography, shock pulse/vibration, oil analysis, performance metrics and analytics. Advanced computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Pronto or similar CMMS.
Qualifications: Mechanical Trade background with leadership training (preferred) & Australian C Class Driver's Licence.
