About the opportunity:
Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the growing team at our Jundee Operations, offering an 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth. Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, the successful candidate will monitor workplace safety and provide specialist safety related support and advice to site management, employees and contractors, including the ER Coordinator and ER team.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Ensure site teams comply with Legislation and continually develop the Safety Management System (SMS) to remain relevant to all Stakeholders.
- Provide continuous support, guidance and direction to personnel and contractors for all safety and health requirements.
- Conduct regular safety and equipment inspections of work sites and inform supervisors of unsafe practices, conditions, and possible safety and health hazards.
- Respond to site emergencies as part of the Emergency Management Team.
- Review with the OHS Superintendent and/or Health & Safety Manager, serious incident investigations to ensure adequate quality and remedial actions are appropriate and implemented.
- Develop health and safety initiatives where required and promote across the site.
- Participate in risk assessments of site work activities and conditions.
- Monitor the completion of recommendations and actions from incident investigations, inspections and audits.
- Communicate changes to Company level documents to ensure clear understanding across all teams.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, in a mine site environment. Experience in incident investigations, workplace inspections and audits also required.
Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate. Lead Auditor Qualification is preferred.
