Due to continued growth within our new division, Northern Star Surface Mining (NSSM) is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor operating on an 8/6 Roster FIFO basis from Perth. This role offers long-term stability and a genuinely fulfilling career opportunity. This role will suit a proactive and hands-on HSEQ professional with experience in mining and FIFO environments.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

 

  • Partnering with site-based WHS teams and operational leaders to drive safety outcomes
  • Supporting and continuously improving the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments
  • Assisting with serious incident investigations and monitoring corrective actions
  • Ensuring statutory reporting is completed within required timeframes
  • Coordinating corporate drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Supporting inductions for corporate and site-based employees
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ensuring environmental compliance and responsible site practices

 

 

To thrive in this role you will need:

 

Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar FIFO role, coupled with a strong knowledge of mining and minerals processing operations and a strong understanding of risk management processes (ICAM preferred).

 

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (or related discipline), accompanied by Lead Auditor qualification (desirable) and a current WA C Class Drivers’ Licence.

 

Passion for Growth: You build strong relationships with operational teams, communicate confidently at all levels, and take a practical approach to risk management and continuous improvement. With a strong understanding of WHS systems and compliance, you’re driven to create safer workplaces while supporting operational performance and environmental responsibility.
