Northern Star Resources currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geologist – Operations to join the team at our Jundee operations. This role offers a long-term and fulfilling future with our esteemed Geology team on an 8:6 roster, contributing to our ongoing journey toward sustained operational excellence.

Rock-solid foundation: Apply a strong understanding of geology and geological processes within a production environment.

Underground production geology: Complete underground face mapping, geological inspections and interpretation to support ore development, stope performance and short-term mining decisions.

Mine-to-mill ownership: Play a key role in tracking and reconciling ore movements from Thunderbox Underground and our satellite operations through the ROM and stockpile network to the processing plant.

Core logging and sampling: Accurately log, interpret and sample diamond core while maintaining high standards of geological and QAQC data.

Data detective: Analyse and interpret geological and production data to identify trends, investigate variances and support operational decision-making.
To thrive in this role, you will need

A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in geology with 2+ years of experience as a geologist in the resource industry, preferably within an underground gold mining operation.

Current unencumbered Western Australian C Class Manual Driver's Licence.

A sound understanding of underground production geology, including face mapping, geological interpretation and ore control.

A strong understanding of material tracking, ROM and stockpile management, and production reconciliation.

Experience with Datamine, MPX, Acquire or similar mining and geological software packages will be highly regarded.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary operational teams.
