Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the growing team at our Thunderbox Operations in the Northern Goldfields. This permanent, full-time position operates on 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth,

 

Reporting to the Environment Superintendent, this role will provide a genuine opportunity to contribute to environmental excellence at one of Australia's leading gold mining operations while working within a high-performing and safety-focused team.

 

What you can look forward to

  • Support the Environmental Superintendent in implementing and continuously improving environmental management systems across operations.
  • Provide expert environmental advice to operational teams, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review clearing permit applications, advise stakeholders, and maintain accurate clearing records and documentation.
  • Monitor, collect, analyse, and report environmental data while maintaining compliance registers and statutory records.
  • Deliver environmental training, inductions, risk assessments, incident investigations, and rehabilitation initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits, providing coaching and guidance to employees and contractors.
  • Prepare timely and accurate environmental reports and communicate key environmental outcomes to stakeholders.

 

 Where you’ll add value:

  • Experience in a similar Environmental Advisor role, ideally within the resources sector.
  • Experience working FIFO at a remote site location would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication & people skills, with the ability to collaborate, negotiate & influence across all levels of site stakeholders.
  • Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you are extremely well organised, with strong time management skills & an excellent attention to detail.
  • Solutions focused, you possess strong analytical & problem-solving skills & thrive in a dynamic & outcomes focused environment.

 

Qualifications / Technical: 

  • Hold a Tertiary Qualification in Environment or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in an environmental role within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector.
  • Practical experience implementing and maintaining environmental management systems and compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A solid working knowledge with practical understanding of environmental regulatory environments, best practice and general environmental systems
  • Hold a valid ‘C class’ Drivers Licence.
