About the opportunity:

Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the growing team at our Thunderbox Operations, this is offered an 8 days on/6 days off roster, FIFO ex Perth.

Here's what awaits you:

  • Report to the Senior Environmental Advisor and work closely with the Environmental Superintendent in the developing, communicating and implementing the environmental components of the company's environment management system across operations as well as recommend business improvements.
  • Provide expert advice to the operations teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory obligations.
  • Review internal clearing permits, advise proponents and maintain all necessary clearing records.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, collection and interpretation of reliable environmental data as well maintaining compliance registers and statutory accountability records, ensuring accurate internal and external reporting
  • Review internal clearing permits and provide advice to proponents regarding clearing and maintaining all the necessary clearing records.
  • Deliver timely and accurate environmental support, including training, inductions, risk assessments, incident investigations, and strategies for water, land, rehabilitation, and flora/fauna management.
  • Conduct workplace environmental compliance inspections and provide coaching to employees and contractor
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Environmental Superintendent and other relevant stakeholders.

 To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with practical understanding of environmental regulatory environments, best practice and general environmental systems and procedures. Experience in a mining and/or heavy engineering environment also required.

Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental related discipline or similar
