Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Environmental Superintendent to join our Carosue Dam Operations on a 4 day on / 3 day off roster FIFO Ex Perth.  The successful candidate will provide leadership for the site environmental team, ensuring all environmental legal obligations are met, environmental risks are managed, and progressive environmental performance is promoted. Additionally, this role will also implement systems and processes to comply with Norther Star's Environmental Management Systems.

  • Display commitment to health, safety and environmental management ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental and stakeholder policy and Environmental Management Systems
  • Active participation in all communication and awareness systems including facilitating statutory notifications, reporting and environmental incident investigations
  • Ensuring environmental obligations and risks are identified and effectively managed
  • Provide expert professional advice and lead environmental projects, including approvals for new and existing projects, internal and external reporting in relation to effective management of the environment
  • Foster stakeholder engagement including promoting environmental awareness campaigns, communicating best practices, coordinating the identification, scoping and coordination of environmental projects and investigations
  • Lead and develop team members to deliver on commitments and achieve excellence
  • Perform due diligence audits ensuring that operations are environmental legally compliant and changes to law are implemented during operational, decommissioning and closure phases

 

To thrive in this role

  • Experience: 10+ years' experience working in an environmental role. Experience in mining, auditing and compliance is also required, including environmental management system development and maintenance, such as ISO14001.
  • Qualifications: Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Passion for Growth: Genuine passion for the Australian environment and in improving environmental outcomes
