About the opportunity:

Northern Star Resources currently has an opportunity for an experienced Emergency Response Coordinator to join the Health & Safety Department at our Jundee Operations. This role will assist in maintaining safety & health management across all site operations, as well as manage and direct emergency preparedness and response service within the Health & Safety Department.

  • Operate in accordance with and comply the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Actively promote, monitor, and enforce compliance to company safety systems, policies procedures and safe work instructions. 

  • Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated according to policy and statutory requirements. 

  • Display a clear commitment to safety and health, seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment. 

  • Facilitate and participate in initial injury response and management. 

  • Proactive involvement with continuous Health & Safety improvement processes. 

  • Deliver and implement site emergency procedures. 

  • Active participation in all communication and awareness systems. 

  • Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management. 

  • Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment. 

  • Minimises waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling. 

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a similar role, including 2+ years working in an underground or open pit mine environment.

Qualifications: Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (or similar) Certificate IV in Health Care, current unrestricted HR Class Drivers Licence required. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate IV in Work Health Safety also preferred.
