Position: Client Electrical Foreman 

 

Work Location: Jundee

 

Roster: 8/6

 

The Foreman – Underground Electrical reports to the Alternate Underground Manager, and the primary role is to lead the electrical teams in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures are met by statutory, company OHS&E and company operational standards within the maintenance department. Is responsible for assigning tasks and resources to the shift supervisors, guiding and supporting them in supervision of electrical service underground.   

 

About the role:

 

  • Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety awareness.
  • Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures to ensure effective maintenenace of the plant and ancillaries so business targets and goals are achieved to the maximum effect.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication of work and issues/conditions status takes place with delegate prior to departure from site.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure underground plant and facilities are available are such that the key resources and assets are effectively utilised and optimised.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted to achieve lowest cost production.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Management of all activities so that they are carried out in a cost effective manner.
  • Effective control of costs by monitoring and controlling KPI’s to optimum levels with the assistance of team members.
  • Manage the performance of employees and ensure improvement and development targets are implemented.
  • Demonstrate support for management.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Electrical Qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory capacity in an underground mining environment
  • Minimum 4 years Electrical experience on an underground mine site.
  • Frontline management or equivalent desirable.
  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers License

 

Desired Experience & Competencies:

  • Sound understanding of underground electrical maintenance principals and their application in practice.
  • Sound knowledge of operation of underground mining equipment.
  • High level of knowledge in statutory safety and environmental requirements relevant to underground electrical maintenance and classified plant.
  • Good level of knowledge in computer literacy, in particular Pronto MS Office and Autocad.
  • Solid awareness of Maintenance Management Systems
  • Ability to plan and or anticipate likely scenarios as related to all key responsibility areas.
  • Able to effectively allocate the organisation’s resources to achieve business requirements.
  • Effective time management.
  • Ability to develop appropriate action plans in order to respond to current and emerging issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
  • St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
