• Play a key role in maintaining critical site communications infrastructure

We are looking for a Communications Technician to join our Thunderbox Operations. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, your primary role is to be responsible for the installation, maintenance and fault finding of the communications infrastructure within the Mining, Processing and Maintenance Departments. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth.

What you can look forward to:

• Implement minor software/hardware/graphic interface changes as directed in accordance with site operating procedures, tools and methodologies.
• Assist with commissioning and start-up of new installations.
• Provide support to continuous improvement projects within the Mining Department.
• Assist in the development of operational and functional procedures related to systems.

Where you’ll add value:

• Experience with mining communication hardware and software applications, including but not limited to Motorola VHF Digital Radio Systems, Leaky Feeder, Personnel and Equipment Tracking and Proximity Systems, PLC Programming, SM and MM Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing, Commissioning and Fault Finding, CITECT SCADA Telemetry, Wireless and Fixed Network Infrastructure.
• Component level diagnostics and repair capability.

Qualifications:

• Cert III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
• Restricted Electrical Licence and Registered Cabler License (endorsed Co-axial, Fibre and structured cabling) will be highly regarded.
• Current WA “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
