Northern Star Resources is seeking a Communications Supervisor to join the team at our Jundee Operations. This FIFO role operates on an 8:6 roster, flying ex‑Perth, and offers an opportunity to work at one of Australia’s premier gold operations.
Here's what awaits you:
- Plan, coordinate and communicate current and future communications projects.
- Work closely with the Underground Manager and Area Supervisors to ensure the timely and effective completion of planned activities.
- Coordinate site personnel, contractors and external organisations to deliver work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety requirements and site standards.
- Maintain and upgrade the site communications network to ensure reliable and continuous coverage.
- Ensure the reliability and functionality of the site Emergency Response communication system.
- Plan and coordinate resources, including people, equipment, funding and time, to successfully deliver each task.
- Provide regular progress reporting on activities, timelines, costs and outcomes.
- Provide hands-on support when required to install, maintain and commission underground network infrastructure and communications technology.
To thrive in this role, you will need
Experience:
- Experience with mining communication systems, including fibre optics, radio repeaters, telemetry, VHF/UHF and leaky feeder systems.
- Experience with Citect SCADA, Schneider control systems, RFI digital drift and satellite TV systems.
- Strong communication, leadership and technical problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and provide technical direction.
- High-level contractor management experience.
- Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- A proactive approach to fault finding, continuous improvement and maintaining safe, reliable systems.
Qualifications:
- Cert III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
- Open cabling licence with fibre endorsement, structured cabling and coaxial is desirable
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
